Abstract
The recent coronavirus outbreak has dramatically changed people's daily lives around the world. Studies from many large organizations have found that flexible or hybrid work will be a permanent change. Therefore, designing a workplace for the future requires adjustments to suit the needs and expectations of building occupants. The lighting environment is one of the key factors for performance. Also, in particular, the impact on the health of building occupants is something that deserves more consideration in the design of a workplace of the future. This research project aims to study the flexible working model for countries in the ASEAN region because there is a high proportion of the working age population and the organizational culture may differ from regional studies. It involves the questionnaire-based surveys and interviews with key stakeholder groups among the ASEAN countries with middle and high incomes, such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, in order to create a body of knowledge on the changing needs of land use as well as the use of lighting systems, both electrical and natural light. This is to continue to present guidelines for the development of innovative lighting that is suitable for new lifestyles in the ASEAN region.
