คำอธิบายโดยย่อ
Today, communication and computing technology plays a huge role in the economy, society and security. Therefore, it is imperative that all countries must support these kinds of research to build a body of knowledge and prepare their own skilled workers as well as academic cooperation networks. This is especially true for technologies that are not yet mature but are expected to have a high impact in the foreseeable future, such as quantum technology.
This project proposal consists of 4 sub-projects, which are primarily aimed at studying different aspects of quantum technology and related technologies. Sub-project 1 is a study to understand the differences and limitations of quantum computers of continuous variable type and discrete variable type, and developed a quantum gradient algorithm based on that acquired knowledge. This will be the basis for performing the best optimization process in various situations using Quantum Optimization and will lead to the development of Quantum Machine Artificial Intelligence. Sub-project 2 is a continuation research project from the 2021 budget, that is to design and build quantum logic circuits being executable on an actual quantum computer, and, together with classical algorithms running on a classical computer, are able to classify images and other types of data. This research is also one of the efforts to develop quantum artificial intelligence. Sub-project 3 will explore a new method that relies on the quantum behavior of systems in nature for protecting information in communication systems. This line of study is crucial because there are very few personnel with expertise in quantum communication security in Thailand at the moment. One of the objectives of this study is to build a strong quantum communication research team in Thailand that is ready to conduct research on Quantum Internet, another upcoming technology that is being developed in parallel with today's quantum computers. Finally, Sub-project 4 is an attempt to apply quantum information theory, which is one of the fundamentals of quantum technology, for studying the behavior of black holes and linking them back to quantum cryptographic technology. This approach should help to create a new body of knowledge at a fundamental level and may lead to a possibility of developing more advanced quantum communication technology.
The researchers believe that the results of these 4 sub-project studies will drive the knowledge of quantum computing and communications technology from upstream to midstream and should play a part in building and upgrading the capabilities of Thailand's quantum technology researchers to be ready for the research cooperation with international researchers at a higher level further.
