Abstract

Healthy seeds are the demanding of the recent for production high yield in the next season. The local technique for maintain seed quality is sun drying, but nowadays the climate change is effected on rainy and sunlight that impact on agriculture farm, especially rice farm in Thailand.  In 2014, there was the big flooding in paddy farm area, the famers could not dry seed stock for planting in the next season.  So the academic organization in Ratchaburi try to solve immediate problem by making a non-permanent paddy dehumidify called “Destitute paddy oven for water disaster farmer” which equipment design by an academic institute in the North East Thailand. This oven was made by local material with low cost, but the structure was not strong, limited in lifetime and paddy loading.  Moreover, this oven took time more than 12 hours per batch (50 kgs) . So, researchers were adapt principle and design the paddy dehumidifier prototype for increasing seed drying efficiency which decreased drying  times in more than 6 times. Furthermore,   the scope of this project focus on supporting small farmer in Tambon Rang Bou, Jombueng District Ratchaburi Province and nearby area in rice seed management by solar cell paddy dehumidifier transfer technology by 1) training of the rice small farmers in Ratchaburi and nearby 160 farmer in 4 times in seed handing and management 2) workshop training for building, using and maintenances the equipment 50 people 3) Supporting to contribute the rice seed learning center for 1 local commodity and 4) public the knowledge materials such as handbook, brochure and poster for famer and general person.
