Abstract

In this project, we propose multi-level multi-agent optimization models known as leader-follower models for describing the waste circulation management in an eco-industrial partk. There are two variants of leader-follower models that we are particularly interested in, which are the single-leader multi-follower model and the multi-leader single-follower model. Each single-agent level describes the optimization problem of the authority that regulates the eco-industrial park, while the multi-agent level describes the non-cooperative equilibrium problem among the competing enterprises within the same eco-industrial park. The goals of this project are (1) to investigate systematically the behaviors of such models and then (2) to apply such knowledge in the analysis of the eco-industrial park context.
