Abstract
Cerium-doped inorganic single crystals are commonly used as scintillation detectors for X- and γ-rays for medical applications due to a good combination of high light output and fast response time. However, the tranparent ceramic scintillators may be the novel scintillators for new age. Therefore, in this work, scintillation performance of (Gd3-xLux)ScAl4O12:Ce (x=0,1,2,3) transparent ceramic scintillators could be increased by fine adjustment of the Gd/Lu ratio. Improved (Gd3-xLux)ScAl4O12:Ce (x=0,1,2,3) ceramic sciltillator can use for X- ray imaging devices such as Charged-coupled devices (CCD), Complementary metal oxide semiconductors (CMOS), และ Microchannel plate (MCP) in near future.
