Abstract

This research continues and extends from the approved research study in 2023 of fiscal year, which experienced and intensively studied the bed agglomeration during the fluidized combustion with bamboo and vinasse wastes. This study will propose two approaches for the problem prevention; (1) employing low Si content bed materials instead of conventional silica bed material, and (2) applying the additive which the spent bleach earth (SBE), the solid waste from the palm oil production process, is selected. The present objective is to study the fuel inorganic behaviors during combustion and the interactions between the fuel inorganic elements and the bed particles and the additive, that causes the inhibition of the bed particle agglomeration. The main research output, outcome and impact include the knowledges enhancing the insight in the agglomeration mechanism for the field study of biomass combustion, developing an academic article for national/international journals; as a reference, and establishing a prototype prevention technique in the fluidized bed combustion.
