Abstract
To drive Thai society to create a Creative & Learning Society, dissemination of insight regarding recognized and awarded architectural work is necessary to support related scholars and professionals and the public with a body of knowledge that promotes innovative design thinking and fosters the creation of new, exemplary building designs. Given its tropical context, Thailand's localized contemporary architecture exhibits unique design features apart from other non-localized building designs. Nationally recognized modern buildings, such as buildings awarded by the Association of Siamese Architects, are good for understanding. Involving qualified architects and experts from various backgrounds, their holistic view of the work aims to point the way for good quality architecture. Ensuring adequate dissemination of such a wealth of knowledge guarantees understanding, acceptance, and appreciation in Thai society.
This research focuses on collecting relevant building documentation of selected examples of awarded Thai architectures by creating a building information model to extract key performance indicators and descriptive information from conducting stakeholder interviews to determine intentions and decision-making during the design and planning process. With the collected information sorted and made available via tools for visualization and comparison analysis of investigated designs, the internet-based, publicly accessible platform allows for open learning. Further, it is considered to use the open-source platform to add other outstanding Thai building designs. Finally, as a valuable resource for future architectural design researchers to increase and transform architectural knowledge based on quantitative and qualitative building information for architectural design, the platform will help understanding relevant building information and establish supportive data as guidelines for further analysis.
