Abstract

The purpose of this project is to transfer a greenhouse rainwater harvesting technology of four systems in the non-irrigated catchment areas for the vegetable farm by training the 100 agriculturists and developing a learning center for extending the technology to farmers in the community of Tambon Rangbua, Ratchaburi province. The rainwater collection system is built by the basin under a greenhouse, designed to a tilt angle 45 degree to prevent the topsoil layer erosion and placed cover the polyethylene (PE) which is the waterproofing material and preventing the contamination of acid soils - saline soils. The top of the basin is closed by the precast concrete slabs to growing vegetables. Due to this greenhouse is a simple system that can be made constructed by using simple devices which are easy to find and maintenance themselves. Agriculturists can produce food crops for their household consumption and earn income from farming throughout the year and Improving the quality of farmer life to a balanced way of living followed by sufficiency economy philosophy and sustainable efficient local water resource management.
