คำอธิบายโดยย่อ

Detecting cancer disease at an early stage is one of the most important issues for increasing the survival rate of patients. Cancer biomarker detection helps to provide a diagnosis before the disease becomes incurable in later stages. Biomarkers can also be used to evaluate the progression of therapies and surgery treatments.Cancer antigen (CA )and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) are the highest used serum markers for breast cancerSimultaneous detection of these serum markers is significant for early detection of recurrent disease and metastatic breast cancer especially in bone and liver. Moreover, it can be used as an indicator of how well the therapy isAs CA and CEA are the markers for treatment, they are diagnosed in serial measurement. Therefore, the accuracy, reliability and cost effectiveness technique is imperative for CA and CEA detection.Additionally, cardiac biomarkers are released into the bloodstream from the damaged cardiac myocytes.Since even mild myocyte damages lead to anincrease in the level of cardiac biomarkers, using these biomarkers is very useful in the rapiddiagnosis of myocardial infarction, and reduction ofits complications. The most critical and specificbiomarker for the rapid detection of myocardialinfarction is troponinand brain natriuretic peptide (BNP).

In recent years, molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based sensors have been intensely investigated as promising analytical devices in several fields, including clinical analysis, offering desired portability, fast response, specificity, and low cost. The aim of this research is to report for the first time the development of disposable MIP-based electrochemical sensors for detecting: 1) CA15-3 and CEA, biomarkers for prediction of breast cancer recurrence, and 2) cTn and BNP, biomarkers for early detection of heart failure.This research will present the modification of screen-printed electrode (SPE) for simultaneous electrochemical determination of breast cancer biomarkers (CA15-3 and CEA) and heart failure biomarkers (cTn and BNP).The platform of MIP-aptamer sandwich assays will be proposed for targets binding and signal separation. While aptamers conjugated apoferritin signal tags will be utilized as signal probe. The signals will be detected from metal ions inside the apoferritin instead of the direct signal from target analytes. The use of the designed MIP-based electrochemical sensor could be an essential achievement in health policy, preventing deaths caused by breast cancer, myocardial infarction, and reducing patients with heart failure.
