Abstract

The project aims to develop the secondary fire control system (SFS) to be used as an enhanced component of the previously developed M60 A3 Gunnery Training Aids (GTA). The GTA was developed by focusing on fixed target aiming and shooting procedure of gunnery with no physical hardware monitoring/control. The development of SFS will be performed by observing the lifting mechanical control of the tank’s main gun. The SFS will be designed and developed to calculate the physical lifting angle of the main gun. The developed SFS will be tested to ensure the measurement accuracy and compatibility with the M60 A3 Gunnery Training Aids. The developing SFS will be calibrated and optimized to meet the requirement of the tank gunnery training exercise.

This development of SFS will be conducted under the supervision of the Royal Thai Army Cavalry Centre and the Army Research and Development Office to make sure that the outcome of the research will be useable by the Royal Thai Army.
