Abstract

Traction inverter technology is one of key components in electric vehicles (EVs). These key components are defined as ones replacing the internal combustion engine (ICE) in ICE vehicle. Also, they can be used in conversion from ICE vehicle to EV. They include battery, traction inverter, and traction motor, requiring the expertise and experience in technology development. Among these components, traction inverter is the technology with fundamental circuit topology for three-phase motors in a wide variety of industrial applications. Since research in traction inverter is essentially to develop the power electronics circuit and electric drive software, so traction inverter is highly possible in developing from laboratory circuit prototype to production with strong electrical and electronics industries manufacturing several electrical products in Thailand. As a result, this project is focused on development of traction inverter for electric tuk-tuk as target market according to company’s business plan.
