Abstract
This independence research, the objective is to study factors that affecting the surface quality of the product from the green sand gray cast iron support disc formwork, which is a peripheral part of the tractor produced by an automatic sand pump to find suitable methods for mixing green sand to reduce defects on the surface of gray cast iron workpieces and to assess the quality control of the green sand blends for molding in operation. The study found that 19.73% of the problem of waste occurred in support disc production processes, which was found to cause defects in the support disc workpiece, there are 2 factors: Factors caused by green sand for mold ingress found 68% waste. And a factor caused by mold design 32% waste was found. Then further analysis of other factors involved in the production process, which is a factor that has not yet been found to cause the defect, but may result later, including factors caused by the core sand. From the examination, it was found that the results were not significantly different. Thus, improving this research can reduce the amount of waste from 19.73% to 4.28%.
