Abstract
Sibutramine hydrochloride is chemical medicine discovered in slimming supplements. The objective of this work is to develop a rapid and simple procedure for the determination of sibutramine hydrochloride. This research has been developed for sibutramine hydrochloride using a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) combined adsorptive stripping voltammetry technique. The optimal electrolyte for sibutramine hydrochloride analysis is a Britton Robinson buffer (pH6) solution containing potassium perchlorate 20 mmol/L. The optimal deposition potential is -1.0 V for 2 mins. This report shows a concentration range from 1.0 to 8.0 mg/L with a detection limit of 0.48 mg/L for sibutramine hydrochloride. Moreover, this development technique is potentially applied to detect sibutramine hydrochloride in drinking samples. Consequently, this is the research for sibutramine determination applied SPCE with using potassium perchlorate to develop sibutramine in real sample.
