Abstract
This research is to investigate the natural gas (NG) flame on annular burner affected by spiral ports with numerical simulation were carried out by numerical method and compared to the experiment. The composition of NG was 89% of methane and 11% of carbon dioxide and it was widely applied for industrial and power plant. In order to be safety, this study focuses on non-premixed combustion on axial burner. To investigate the effects of spiral port with variation prototype or smooth port, inside spiral of fuel port, outside spiral of air port, combine between outside spiral of air port and inside spiral of fuel port and combination between inside spiral of air port and inside spiral of fuel port at equivalence ratio 1.00 and 2.00 kW of firing rate. The result showed the premixed flame and flame length was likely short flame length in case of combine between inside spiral of air port and inside spiral of fuel port as 1322.9
°C of maximum flame temperature. The simulation result such a flame temperature was closed to the experimental result with 5.36% with error. In this study, the enhancement of flame temperature and flame stability such a local extinction flame of synthetic natural gas combustion could be improved by spiral air and fuel ports on axial burner.
