Abstract

This research aims to improve paper to security printing with fluorescent inks under UV light (<400 nm.) for use in packaging or labels manufacture and improved paper to analyze the properties and print quality to be used in real conditions. There are 3 types of paper ; gloss paper, matte paper and uncoated paper (plain paper)  were printed UV Fluorescent ink type “substituted benzo oxazinone pigment” by offset printing system. Then print the test form with a digital printer and analyzed for the quality of the printout. The result all 3 types of improved paper have print quality is unchanged because density and tone value increase (TVI) were close to printing on untreated paper. The color difference (ΔE*00) is less than 3 which the human eye cannot distinguish and does not affect the print quality. When used in the production of label packaging, all 3 types of paper also have anti-copied properties because they can glow under UV light. There are properties that are invisible under normal light, can't take pictures or copy documents. The paper modified with substituted benzo oxazinone pigment coating can used in the manufacture of anti-counterfeit packaging.
