Abstract

This research has studied office and workplace lighting without windows and natural lights.
According to the problems of the current situation, office workers have to work from home (WFH)
or remote work from an office. An inappropriate workspace will affect human physical health and
work stress while working and may cause reduced work performance.
There are two studies about the artificial window prototype and the experiment with office workers
in the windowless room. The experiment consisted of 23 participants, by a maximum 2-person
round, and was given them to answer the questionnaires within 50 minutes. An experimental
room has 3 lighting scenes 1) the windowless room with artificial light in CCT 40000K 2) the
windowless room with an artificial light in CCT 40000K and a virtual window prototype 3) the
windowless room with dynamic lighting control to match with a virtual window (3200K – 5500K).
The results by using Single ANOVA show that the workplace with a light color temperature of
4000K with a virtual window at 5500K was the scene that participants most preferred to work in,
while the room light color temperature at 3200K with a virtual window at 3200K was the scene
that participants most prefer to rest.
