Abstract

This paper presents a non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) of an electrical appliance in the home malfunction alarm using an aggregation of the power consumption via the internet of things. The proposed work would allow the owner to be alerted when defect arise on any electrical appliance. The measurement of the home appliance has power consumption aggregation. Electrical appliances are categorized into appliances that constantly run and those that run at certain times. The process of recognizing the type of appliances used an on-off sequence individually. Then it will try to adjust the consumed power of the malfunctioned electrical appliance, which will further check the alarm and notify the owner via Line notification system. Experiment is conducted to alert homeowner of malfunctioned electrical appliance, the simulated results using higher-than-normal power adjustments confirmed that the notification messages were sent/delivered. © 2022 IEEE.
