In dynamic inductive power transfer (DIPT) applications, there are two possible configuration of transmitter which is long track and segmented pads. The advantages of long track are constant coupling coefficient and easy for installation However, the coupling coefficient is lower comparison with segmented pads. This paper presents the comparison of transmitter connection for dynamic inductive power transfer application. The effective coupling coefficient of series- segmented transmitter, parallel- segmented transmitter and separately segmented transmitter are analyzed. The simulation results show the desirable coupling coefficient of overlapped configuration of the separately segmented transmitter. By using the proposed method, coupling coefficient is higher by 75%. The feasibility of the proposed method is confirmed by COMSOL Multiphysics simulations.
