Abstract

By comparison Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) grid code with others, the deviations are following (1) Harmonic: MEA refers the IEEE1547.1 unless THDi calculates follow IEC definition. PEA requires voltage harmonic results. (2) Active Power Control: PEA requires each reachingtime of reducing 10% of nominal output power (Pn) results (3) Reactive Power Control: PEA specifies for low voltage connected system and medium voltage connected system. The first one requires only a Fix Displacement Factor Cosθ capability. Other requires for 2 of capabilities namely, a Fix Displacement Factor Cosθ and a Variable Reactive Power Depending on Voltage Q(U). (4) Low Voltage Fault Ride Through: PEA requires the test results of fault conditions as followed. Three-phase symmetry, Phase-to-phase without ground and single phase to ground which is performed at 10%, 30% and more than 90% of nominal power condition as well. (5) Over/Under Voltage: MEA’s test procedure specified the final value at ±1V of trip voltage setting. Several differences of grid code effect to setting and capability of PV grid-connected inverter.
