Abstract

This work has concerned rod-like Au-CsWO3 nanocomposites for energy-saving smart window applications. The aim of this work is to prepare NIR shielding composites based on rod-like cesium-doped tungsten bronze (CsWO3) and Au nanorods. The nanosize rod-like CsWO3 was successfully synthesized via water controlled-release solvothermal process while the Au nanorods were prepared via seed-mediated growth method. The reaction condition such as CsWO3/Au mixing ratio was investigated. The morphology and the near-infrared shielding performance of Au-CsxWO3 nanocomposites were evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV/Vis spectroscopy, respectively. The results indicated that Au-CsWO3 nanocomposites were successfully prepared. The products also showed high NIR shielding performance while maintaining high transparency in visible light
