Abstract
Nowadays, global warming is creating problems all around the world. The average temperature tends is increase. It causes melting ice, rising sea levels. The main cause is greenhouse gas emissions from human activities such as combustion, energy consumption, travel, etc. Carbon footprint calculation is a tool for monitoring impacts on global warming that can be measured, monitored and follow to enable planning to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in business operations including to reduce the impact of global warming. This research will study to carbon footprint of the Government Housing Bank (Head Office), which is a Specialized Financial Institutionsunder the Ministry of Finance. There are three office buildings and one main data center building and find mitigation measures to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. Using the guidelines of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) 4th revision, December 2018 by time frame period from January 2019 to December 2021 and using the data of the year 2019 as the base year. The study found that the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 equal to 10,413.41 tonCO2e, 9,139.53 tonCO2e and 8,347.76 tonCO2e respectively. The average greenhouse gas emissions per employee equal to 4.10 tonCO2e/person/year and the scope of the average amount of greenhouse gas emissions in scope 1, 2 and 3 equal to 12, 59 and 29 percent respectively. As well as analyzing ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by marginal abatement cost method (MAC). The most effective method is an online presentation system and marginal abatement cost (MAC) equal to –16,687.83 baht/tonCO2e.
