Abstract
One of the most frequent accidents that can lead to impairments is falling. That would be considerably riskier if it happened to an elderly individual. Hence, to lessen the likelihood that elderly people will fall. So, by developing a wearable watch for application in fall detection and elder fall alerting, this paper applies Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to a portable embedded system. A NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller, which we tested to gauge the device's functionality and user satisfaction, processes the sensors and transmits the signal for this device. The researcher has therefore examined the device's effectiveness in order to determine its efficacy in preventing risks to the elderly. Four distinct fall directions will be tested. Falling forward, falling backward, to the right, to the left, and all directions in between While a sample of senior residents in the vicinity of the Buddhist temple offered opinions on the utility of the device. 5 people in total, including senior citizens from Bangkok and Nakhon Si Thammarat Province's urban areas. The device can detect and alert falls with a sensitivity of 0.89 percent, specificity of 90.63 percent, fall direction prediction accuracy of 0.89 percent, and total accuracy percentage of 89 percent. The survey findings showing how happy the elderly were with the device showed a high level of general contentment. ( 𝑥̅= 3.90, S.D. = 0.68 )
