A study of factors affecting plastic injection for the automotive parts manufacturing industry

Defect problems occurred from injection in automobile part industry was affected to cost of company and competitive advantage. Based on this problem, it must improve the process to decrease defects. In this research, quality control seven tools (QC 7) tools such as graph, pareto, and cause and effect diagram to record data and analyzed the root cause. Then, the factors were set for experiment to solve for defect problem emphasize on Cloudy appearance defect. The result showed that defects were decreased by injection setting parameter from 3.21% to 1.23%. The number of parts with other defects was reduced by 0.67% and productivity was increased to 1.98%.
