Abstract

This study examines the Protean Career Orientation among Chinese and Thai students at Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU) through a quantitative research methodology. The study aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on protean career orientation and provide insights information that could be beneficial for career counseling and development programs at DPU and other universities with diverse student populations. The sample consists of 39 Chinese students and 26 Thai students enrolled in various degree programs at DPU, who are facing internship or employment issues. The Protean Career Orientation Scale, Protean Career Attitudes Scale, and Boundaryless Career Attitudes Scale are used as data collection instruments. The key findings indicated that Nationality may significantly influences protean career orientation, protean career attitudes, and boundaryless career attitudes, while Gender, Age, GPA and Annual Household Income do not show a significant impact in this study. These findings could serve as a reference for serving Chinese and Thai students in non-mainstream study abroad destinations like Thailand and for designing effective career counseling and development programs.
