Abstract
This research is a study on the air-port and fuel-port of the Inverse diffusion flame (IDF) burner by using numerical analysis and experimental study to improve the flame temperature. The simulation results reference the previous experimental studies with an error percentage of less than 10%. There are four types of ports, including inner and outer spiral air-ports, inner spiral fuel-ports, and recession air-ports. The results consider the flame temperature, and flame characteristics. The experimental results show the best flame characteristic and the highest flame temperature which is the inner spiral fuel-port with the recession air-port (1,433.10 °C). Consequently, the IDF axial burner with an inner spiral fuel-port with the recession air-port could improve the natural gas combustion characteristics and 9.0% of flame temperature.
