บทคัดย่อ
The design of Thai dessert packaging reflects local wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation, making it a manifestation of cultural capital. This design embodies the historical consumption culture of Thai society effectively. From the past to the present, there are two perspectives: a social perspective and an artistic perspective, both of which reflect changes in various aspects of economic development, social context, and culture that influence packaging design. The design of Thai dessert packaging in each era has had to adapt to the needs of consumer groups. Originally, it contained Thai dessert products that communicated their meaning through simple shapes, colors, and natural materials, reflecting the way of life and traditions of Thai people in the past. However, with the advancement of technology and rapid communication, packaging has undergone changes, which are evident in alterations in the appearance of snacks and materials. The preservation, transport, and communication of images on Thai dessert packaging now need to align with urban social contexts and changing lifestyles, reshaping the communication of cultural capital and traditions in a new way. These changes have transformed the role of packaging design, focusing on the following aspects: 1) materials, 2) shapes or structures, 3) graphics and illustrations, 4) colors, 5) typography, and 6) usability.
