Abstract
Dye sensitizers are one component of dye sensitized solar cells. Natural dye sensitized have a red-pink group that can make solar cells. Therefore, bougainvillea flowers (dark pink) are another option for making dye sensitized. The purpose of this research was to design and fabricate natural dye-sensitized solar cells from bougainvillea dye to determine the efficiency of solar cells. The test conditions were weightbased dye concentrations of 10, 30 and 50 g per 150 mL DI water. It was found that at 50 g, it had the highest absorbance at wavelength 435 nm and high efficiency () at 0.344% at different voltage (VOC), current density (JSC), solar cell quality (FF). to 0.389V, 2.662 mA/cm2 and 66.59% respectively. The use of sensitized dyes from bougainvillea flowers for dye-sensitized solar cells, the efficiency was similar to that of the same dye-extract group.
