Abstract

The current study aimed to develop a learning framework using Conceive, Design, Implement, and Operate (CDIO) and A3 Thinking to enhance problem solving abilities in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing. Moreover, this research focuses on reducing the waste from PCBA production. The participants were employees in the position of leader who was responsible for overseeing the PCBA production line. In the treatment, participants would brainstorm ideas to analyse the problems by finding the root cause of the problem and identifying solutions. The employees also, find methods to avoid repeating the same problems, conducted in the form of PDPC (Process Decision Program Chart). The current results found that the employees can develop the ability to solve problems occurring in the PCBA manufacturing process, and they can reduce PCBA manufacturing waste by around 57.78%. ฉ 2023 IEEE.
