Abstract
This abstract proposes using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a teaching assistant to address the challenges of teaching oral presentation skills to large classes of students with limited English proficiency. It outlines details on how freely available tools such as Google Search, Google Translate, Grammarly, and text-to-speech programs can be implemented for tasks such as script creation, pronunciation practice, and receiving immediate feedback. Moreover, student experiences are shared, highlighting the benefits of self-reflection, motivation, and overcoming pronunciation difficulties. The limitations of this practice, including unreliable internet access, difficulty with proper nouns, and the potential for discouragement, are also mentioned. It concludes by emphasizing the use and value of AI as a supplementary material for language teaching and encourages teachers and educators to keep updating on new tools and trends.
