Abstract
The purpose of this project is to plan the production of PCBA boards and improve the production process to reduce the cycle time. This is a research and analysis project aimed at solving the problem of producing PCBA boards in quantities of 200,000 boards per month, or 9,090 pieces per day. To improve the process, data was collected using the work study principle to calculate the cycle time and standard time. This data was then analyzed and improved using the ECRS and 7 Waste principles to eliminate unnecessary activities and select beneficial activities to develop ways to reduce the cycle time of each workstation. The workstations were rearranged to balance according to the principles of line balancing to maximize the number of productions per day as per the customer's order. The results of the study and process improvement of this project found that the production process could be improved by identifying non-value added (NVA) and value-added (VA) activities. This resulted in a reduction in the cycle time from 42.86 seconds per piece to 13.93 seconds per piece. As a result, the original production of 672 pieces per day increased to 4,134 pieces per day. It was found that the production capacity increased by 6 times after the improvement, and a new working method could be proposed with 2 production lines to ensure the balanced production of PCBA boards.
