Abstract

This paper describes the simulation of core loss in a typical transformer using MATLAB/Simulink simulations software tools. The calculates all the parameters (electric and magnetic circuit) needed by analyzing comparative data, the relationship between the magnetic flux density, and magnetic field intensity (B-H loop characteristics). It includes the relative of each magnetic material, permeability, frequency, and material volume affected core losses. This paper compared the typical core-loss (Hysteresis and Eddy-current loss) characteristics in the Steinmetz equation with example ferromagnetic samples. An analysis of simulated data is presented in the paper.
