Abstract

Joint the alternative austenitic stainless steel grade AISI 204Cu by autogenous technique welding on PAW process under condition different welding speed at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 mm/sec and weld joint made were subjected to evaluated in term of weld bead shape, microstructure, microhardness and tensile properties, and pitting corrosion resistance. It was found that increase welding speed effected to decrease weld bead size both face and root side weld, delta-ferrite in austenite matrix decrease on type FA solidication mode, microhardness and ultimate tensile strength increase, and increase pitting corrosion resistance.
