Abstract
Today, the Internet of Things is a part of the internet that exists all around us, encompassing a wide variety of devices such as appliances and sensors, including agricultural applications. This research has taken the features and benefits of the Internet of Things by using Smart Farm devices to measure soil quality, considering the pH and moisture in the soil. Then, the quality results are reported. The measured soil data is displayed on a mobile phone to inform farmers or those involved so that they can adjust the soil quality in time. The system designed in this research uses devices and sensors connected to the internet through a Node MCU microcontroller to receive pH and soil moisture data from the sensors. Data is then reported via the Cloud Platform Line Notify. To test device performance, it is determined by the accuracy of data transmission between the sensors and microcontrollers, and between the microcontroller and the Line Notify platform. Results from testing the accuracy of the E-201-C pH sensor for measuring pH, the Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor for measuring soil moisture, and the accuracy of sending data to the LINE application show that the designed device can read the acid-base values, soil quality, and send data to the LINE application as specified. However, there was one instance when notification information could not be sent to the Line Notify platform, which was due to the delay in sending information and the operation of the Line application. Overall, it can be considered that the equipment designed for soil quality monitoring can work at a good level.
