Abstract
Treatment of formic acid wastewater by UV/EO can be highlighted below.
• UV/EO was more effective in removal of
insoluble COD, compared with the EO alone.
• UV/EO could decrease TDS via conversion of
chloride ions to chlorine.
• UV/EO performance highly depended on CD
and contact time, while effect of temperature
was minor.
• UV/EO performance was greatly enhanced
with higher CDs in non-filtrated waters,
compared with filtrated waters.
• Effluent from UV/EO treatment was high
potential for non-potable reuse. However, pH
and TDS should be monitored.
• BDD and titanium plates were robustness for
electro-oxidation.
