Abstract
This research focuses on the stress experienced by employees working in Bangkok, inspired by a news announcement from the Department of Mental Health. Over the past 4-5 years, chronic stress and major depressive disorder have significantly increased among the Thai population, particularly affecting those living and working in Bangkok. Employees in the capital face a notably higher risk of suicide compared to those in other regions. This led to the central question of this research: "How do employees currently feel about their jobs?" To address this question, the study incorporates a review of reports, academic papers, and online data, as well as direct observation of employees in their work environments. By examining their movements, actions, and routines, the research aims to present the repetitive and stressful nature of their daily work lives, which often leads to feelings of depression, boredom, and frustration. In the accompanying video art piece, I represent these emotions and routines through a performative exploration of the employees' experiences, using myself as a metaphorical "humanoid" to reflect their mental and emotional states.
