Abstract
The issue with electric vehicle (EV) charging station reservations is the simultaneous usage of charging points, which
can lead to conflicts among users, as well as the problem of vehicles occupying parking spaces without charging. These challenges have prompted the development of a more efficient, accurate, and reliable reservation system for EV charging stations. This research article presents a license plate recognition system for reserving EV charging stations, which was designed and tested at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. The system was developed to improve the efficiency of charging station reservations and reduce issues related to simultaneous usage. The study found that the license plate recognition system achieved an average accuracy rate of 80%. The accuracy in checking the status of EV parking spaces was 100%, and the system's distance detection accuracy was within 2 meters. therefore, the license plate recognition system can manage reservations for EV charging stations correctly and accurately, which will lessen problems with simultaneous usage and improve the overall effectiveness and structure of the charging service
