Abstract
The research on improving the efficiency of production processes with industrial engineering techniques aims to study the production process of electrical wire sets and improve the electrical wire sets assembly process by studying the production process of electrical wire sets according to the Work study, Flow process charts and Line Balancing. The case study is work produced according to customer demand and production time required by the customer (Takt time), and the workpiece has a production process of 5 stations. The problem encountered is that some workstations have production cycle times that exceed the takt time and the production line is unbalanced. Improving the electrical wire sets assembly process using the ECRS technique, including rearranging the production line and simplifying the placement of the workpiece tray. As a result of the improvements, there are no workstations whose production cycle times exceed the takt time. When comparing the results of operations before and after the improvement, it was found that the amount produced per day after the improvement, production was 5.50% higher than what the customer wanted and 55.06% higher than before the improvement, and production efficiency compared to customer demand after improving production efficiency 105.50%, 5.50% higher than customers wanted and 37.50% higher than before the improvement.
