The number of emergency incidents in Bangkok has been increasing annually. A study on the assessment and triage processes for emergency patients revealed the use of diverse and complex data and a high reliance on the experience of Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMD), which affects the accuracy and speed of evaluating critical symptoms vital for patient survival chances. Moreover, there is a lack of tools supporting the operational tasks of officials. Therefore, this research focuses on developing a decision-support system for assessing and triaging patient symptoms based on the Criteria Based Dispatch (CBD) for 26 symptoms. It involves analyzing both physical and medical factors to convert data into a usable format and integrating it into a decision tree analysis program to create a decision-support model. The results show that the decision-support model (with an accuracy of 82%) performed better than human triage (with an accuracy of 70%) when tested with the same data. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the decision-support system in enhancing the operational performance of emergency medical
services.
