Abstract
Contemporary art today has gone beyond the boundaries of sight and hearing to include the participation of other senses: smell, touch and taste. Tea, a beverage that plays an important role in many cultures around the world, has become an important medium for artists to convey ideas and create works. Tea drinking has been elevated into an artistic experience in various forms, such as the “Contemporary Tea Ceremony” exhibition that combines traditional rituals with elements of modern art. In addition to watching beautiful dances, viewers can also experience the aromas and flavors of tea that have been specially designed to convey the emotions and stories hidden in the artwork. In another dimension, tea is also used in experimental art, such as using tea leaves as part of the creative materials for paintings or creating tea scents in the gallery to stimulate viewers’ memories and emotions, allowing viewers to connect with the culture through deeper perception. Contemporary art with tea is therefore an example of the perfect fusion of art, culture and multisensory experiences. It not only opens up a new dimension in creativity but also connects the beauty of art with the culture of tea drinking that has been with mankind for a long time.
