Carbon emissions are a critical issue in the global fight against climate change, with fuel consumption being a major contributor. The excessive use of private transportation in urban areas exacerbates fuel consumption and, consequently, carbon emissions. Bangkok, one of the most complex cities in terms of transportation, also faces significant climate challenges. This study focuses on transportation planning in Bangkok using a geodesign approach with the ArcGIS GeoPlanner tool. Based on Bangkok’s government documents, higher-level urban transportation plans, and LISD (Low Impact Sustainable Development) guidelines, three key optimization strategies were identified: enhancing the coverage of integrated transportation, establishing electrified transportation infrastructure, and implementing regionally focused transportation zones. These strategies provide a reference for further research and for the practical optimization of transportation planning in other cities.
