Abstract. This article focuses on analysing vibration signals from spherical ball bearings to detect and characterize damage specifically on the raceway. By collecting vibration data under controlled conditions and utilizing time-domain and frequencydomain techniques, the study aims to identify signatures of raceway damage, enhancing the reliability of machinery. The experiment involves measuring vibration signals while varying the size of defects on the inner raceway of the bearings across four conditions: an intact raceway, a raceway with a 1-millimeter defect, a raceway with a 1.5-millimeter defect, and a raceway with a 2-millimeter defect. These defect sizes are tested at rotational speeds of 400 RPM, 700 RPM, and 1000 RPM, showing that larger defects correlate with higher RMS acceleration values in time-domain graphs and increased vibration levels in frequency-domain graphs at the same rotational speeds.
