Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to propose a framework for the application of

artificial intelligence (AI) in the printing and packaging industry, (2) to discuss the perspectives

and readiness of executives, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders involved in the operations of

the printing and packaging industry for integrating AI within their organizations, and (3) to

develop strategies, planning methods, and guidelines for using AI to enhance business

development in the printing and packaging sector. This study employed a quantitative

research approach. Data were collected from a sample group consisting of members from the

Thai Printing Association, executives, business owners, managers, and supervisors with

responsibilities or experience in planning, overseeing, and managing printing and packaging

businesses, totaling 100 participants. A questionnaire was used as the data collection tool,

and data analysis was conducted using statistical software. The findings showed that (1) AI can

be effectively used in quality control processes, production planning, and improving

production accuracy, (2) most organizations' budget readiness for AI adoption ranged between

100,000 to 500,000 baht, indicating an initial to moderate investment level, and employees

generally lacked sufficient knowledge of AI, with only a few familiar with and able to utilize AI

to some extent, emphasizing the need for employee skill development and training for

effective AI use, and (3) the primary focus for AI adoption was on investing in technology that

aids quality control and production planning, alongside supporting employee training and skill

development in AI within the organization.
