Abstract
The purpose of this research is to 1) compare the ability to apply solar cells using Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) with the 70% criterion, 2) compare academic achievement through Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) with the 70% criterion, and 3) study the satisfaction toward learning using Challenge-Based Learning (CBL). The sample consisted of 16 second-year high vocational certificate students in the Electrical Power Department who registered for the course 30104-9007, "Solar Cells and Applications," during the first semester of the 2024 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument included: 1) a lesson plan based on ChallengeBased Learning (CBL) on the topic of solar cell applications in various forms, in the course "Solar Cells and Applications" (Course Code 30104-9007), 2) an achievement test assessing learning outcomes through ChallengeBased Learning (CBL), 3) a project evaluation form to assess the ability to apply solar cells in various forms, and 4) a satisfaction survey regarding learning through Challenge-Based Learning (CBL). The statistics used in the research were percentage, mean and standard deviation. The research results showed that: 1) learners' ability to apply solar cells using Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) was higher than the 70% criterion, achieving 85.44% (Sig.=0.00) 2) learners' academic achievement through Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) was higher than the 70% criterion, achieving 82.50% (Sig.=0.00), and 3) learners' satisfaction toward Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) was at a high level (𝑥̅=4.50, S.D.=0.52).
