Abstract
Abstract
The creative abstract painting series “The Imperfect State of My Body” is the result of an in-depth process of study, theoretical research, and personal reflection on both physical and emotional conditions. This exploration is expressed through the creative process, which critically questions societal standards of beauty and bodily perfection. The internal body—unconventional, asymmetrical, or deviating from the norm—is reinterpreted as a space of acceptance, healing, and redefinition, within the conceptual framework of contemporary art. The self-exploration of the body becomes a central medium of artistic expression. These reflections, deeply tied to the artist’s emotional sensitivity, are transformed into the core concept behind this body of work. Abstract painting is utilized as a means of conveying bodily imperfection, emotional depth, and compositional balance in the present moment. This process is guided by subconscious impulses, expressed through visual elements such as free-form shapes and forms that represent emotional responses to imperfection. Color values are used intentionally to evoke emotional states, becoming essential components of the creative expression. This series offers an alternative perspective—encouraging awareness of the value of life and embracing the imperfections of the artist’s own body as part of a path toward authentic self-care. The creative process behind “The Imperfect State of My Body” has successfully met the intended research goals. It demonstrates the use of specialized painting techniques, notably the experimental use of acrylic paint mixed with thinner, which—through skilled practice—produces intentional surface cracking. The visual elements are effectively and harmoniously integrated, resulting in a compositionally and conceptually coherent body of work.
