Abstract

Thailand has recognized the potential impact of fusion technology and is actively advancing its development, with a particular emphasis on developing the Thailand Tokamak-1 (TT-1). In 2023, the TT-1 achieved a significant milestone by generating its first plasma discharge, highlighting Thailand's strong commitment to advancing fusion energy research. By 2024, TT-1's diagnostic capabilities were significantly enhanced through the implementation of advanced diagnostic systems. Developed in collaboration with experts from Japan's National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS), these systems include soft X-ray imaging, hard X-ray detection for the investigation of runaway electrons, heavy ion beam probe, and electrode biasing voltage experiments. Collectively, these innovations have enhanced TT-1's ability to perform high-precision plasma diagnostics and improve plasma performance, contributing to the advancement of fusion research in Thailand.
