Abstract

Measuring the focal length of a given lens is a basic experiment in physics education. However, many optical devices, such as cameras and telescopes, consist of a system of lenses arranged at a specific distance apart. This article considers a pair of lenses at a distance whose effective focal length is theoretically derived and experimentally verified.
