Abstract

This paper applies the Contest-based Learning (CBL) framework to support Design Thinking Learning through the Bang Kachao Local Identity Design Competition in Samut Prakan Province. The project, a collaboration between King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Darunsikkhalai School, and the Bang Kachao community, used a logo and mascot design competition to engage 14 students in the 5-stage design thinking process over two months. Findings indicate that the competition enhanced motivation, learning structure, communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving, producing outputs that reflect local identity and promote community tourism.
