บทคัดย่อ
This research focuses on the development of paper bowls from pineapple leaf pulp as an alternative
approach to reducing agricultural waste and adding value to discarded pineapple leaves, particularly in
the Pong Krathing Bon community, Ban Kha District, Ratchaburi Province. The study aims to utilize
pineapple leaf for pulping to made paper sheets, which are then molded into paper bowls using a heat
press of thermoforming machine. The inner surface of the bowls is coated with a food-safe barrier
polymer to enhance water and oil resistance, and to improve the durability of the fast-food container.
The products can be applied as a biodegradable, single-use food container that is environmentally
friendly and helps reduce plastic waste. Variables Used in the Study
1) Independent Variables
(1.1) Coating levels and surface sides on paper using bar coater or brush, compared to uncoated
paper.
(1.2) Temperature and time of the thermoforming machine for pineapple leaf paper bowls.
2) Dependent Variables
(2.1) Physical properties of pineapple leaf paper (weight, color, thickness, smoothness).
(2.2) Liquid permeability resistance (Cobb test).
3) Controlled Variables
(3.1) Pulping and paper sheet formation methods.
(3.2) A type of water-based varnish used for coating (SWP 9011. from Anvil (Thai) Co., Ltd.)
