Abstract
The purposes of this research were to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of microlearning media on the topic of the OSI Model, as well as to assess students’ self-directed learning ability, learning achievement, and satisfaction. The study employed an experimental 86 design using the One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design, with the media developed following the ADDIE Model. The sample consisted of 50 second-year students from the Digital Business Technology Program. The findings revealed that the developed microlearning media achieved an average Index of Item–Objective Congruence (IOC) of 0.86 and an efficiency score (E1/E2) of 81.12/89.73, successfully exceeding the established criterion of 80/80. Statistical analysis confirmed that the students’ post-test mean score (𝑥̅ = 26.92) was significantly higher than the pre-test mean score (𝑥̅ = 14.50) at the 0.01 level of statistical significance. Additionally, the students’ overall self-directed learning ability (𝑥̅ = 4.50) and overall satisfaction (𝑥̅ = 4.57) were both rated at a very high level. These results indicate that the microlearning-based instructional media were effective in enhancing both the learning achievement and selfdirected learning ability of the students as hypothesized.
