Abstract
This research study was aimed to investigate how and to what extent a Wikipedia writing class reflects research writing process. Data were collected through curriculum and task analysis and a survey of a group of students who enrolled in an English writing class where writing a Wikipedia article was its main classroom activity. This helped the researchers understand the dimensions and perceptions of research-related learning by comparing the pedagogical structure of Wikipedia writing with conventional research practices. In sum, the study sought to determine whether and how Wikipedia writing can serve as a training platform for developing fundamental research skills in English-medium, project-based learning contexts.
